Do you remember the fizz of first love?
Join us for a rehearsed reading of a new one act play by Amber Wadey. 'Missing You' follows two friends with a complex yet endearing relationship – a ‘will they, won’t they?’ couple. Join Bella and Josh full of anticipation of what could be. Follow them as they negotiate growing up together and separately. Although life tries to pull Bella and Josh apart, they are always brought back to one another by their unfalteringly strong bond. If only they could find the courage to honestly communicate their feelings to one another. Experience some of their most heart-warming and heart-breaking moments as they understand what it means to truly love someone.
‘Missing You’ began as a single scene presented as part of online theatre festival Show Face Festivities in December 2019. Amber was inspired by communication, or lack of, in relationships and our complex nature as human beings. Since then, Amber has developed the piece further working closely and collaborating with Megan Raynor and Jamie Patterson.
Amber is an actor and writer with an enthusiasm for theatre and storytelling. She aims to create relatable stories and characters which immerse an audience and provoke thought. Megan is an actor, writer and musician from the East Midlands. She trained with Peer Productions and is currently part of Broken Silence Theatre’s Playwright Hive. Having recently graduated from the Guildford School of Acting, Jamie is thrilled to be reunited and working with Megan and Amber after nearly 4 years. He is thankful for the opportunity to get stuck into some truthful and poignant writing and to work with old friends.
As a group of emerging creatives we are very much looking forward to presenting our work – this is only the start for this play! With this being the first public presentation of 'Missing You' we are keen to hear from our audience. We hope you enjoy the play and any constructive feedback is welcome.
We would like to thank The Bread & Roses Theatre for your support and for allowing us to be part of Clapham Fringe 2021.
