Near the statue between the Church and the Market just a bit to the right behind the pigeon underneath the tree around the corner three steps from the puddle, and just a hair further, the town goes about its business as usual. The pigeon sits on the statue as usual. The old man grumbles about the price of fish as usual. A window into the life of a quirky town and its inhabitants, And Just A Hair Further is a silly, topsy-turvy piece of physical theatre that shines a light on the wholesome mess of life.
We are fascinated with what happens in a moment of connection and what changes or delights in a moment of honesty. We have created an orchestra of bizarre characters who weave a complex tapestry of relationships. Through watching the absurd natures of these characters, our viewers find moments of recognition with themselves and each other, building a deeper sense of shared empathy and connection.
Eat a Frog Collective was born with the desire to create honestly and generously, inspired by the peculiar details that make us human. Gaia Cicolani is an Italian movement artist and Eleanor Felton is a Canadian theatre artist. Drawing from their extensive experience in different fields, they combine elements of physical theatre, storytelling, and gesture to create lighthearted work that playfully explores connection.
“The ever-watchable Gaia Cicolani.” Graham Watts on SPEKTAKEL, by Natalie Sloth Richter.
“Interesting, disturbing, strange, bizarre, beautiful, inspirational, creative, unique: ART!” Patrice Moniz on Miss B., by Gaia Cicolani.
“Eleanor Felton is a gifted choreographer as the physical work was outstanding.” Liz Gloucester of Two Cents Two Pence on Still the Kettle Sings.
